Help make sure no Jewish family suffers more than they have to!

Hi, everyone! I’m here to bring light to the life changing organization that became one of the biggest blessings in our lives.

As a lot of you know, almost two years ago, my husband and I welcomed a beautiful little miracle boy into our family. Without warning and extremely traumatically we were given the news that our son would have to endure multiple open heart surgeries in his life so that he could live. Thank God, he is almost two years old today and is thriving despite his major health issues. He has had two open heart surgeries and one catheter procedure plus multiple hospital stays due to some typical cold and now we are currently waiting on his third open heart surgery in a few weeks. (all should go well, with only revealed blessing bzh).

Through this most painful and difficult journey, there has been a great light in our lives.
Every time we needed to stay at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, the organization Healing Hearts has given us a fully furnished house, stocked with food and cleaning help as well, when requested. This house is a two minute walk from the hospital and since children are not allowed in the Cardiac ICU, we were able to keep our other children close by and go and visit them every day while my mother watched them. This of course made our lives so much less heartbreaking as we were able to be with our other children as well.

Its very hard to give yourself proper nutrition while in the ICU with a sick child. I would find myself faint and dizzy a lot (which is not a good mix with so much trauma going on.) and because this hospital is not so near a jewish community or kosher stores and in general when you’re in the hospital, its very hard to get out to go to any store whatsoever. Healing Hearts opened a fully equipped kosher room with all the delicious pre packaged meals and delicious chocolates and treats and that itself has been a game changer for us and many others.

Healing Hearts was and is there for us whenever we need it, which means the world to us.
I have had many people reach out to me asking what they can do to help, or if they can send me money to help my family. What would help is donating to the Healing Hearts organization, to help families like mine, to help ease their suffering.

There are so many other Jewish families out there going through the same or similar situation as we are, and I never want them to have to feel this pain of having a critically sick child and not being able to have kosher food to eat, or have somewhere to stay or keep their children nearby so that they can do their best to keep their family together. Anything to minimize their pain is like giving them the whole world.
